More On Mask-Wearing
The Pennsauken Free Public Library will continue to require staff and community members to wear masks and observe 6 feet of physical distance while inside the building.
While Governor Murphy has lifted the indoor mask mandate for vaccinated people, he has allowed individual businesses or entities to make local decisions about safety precautions.
This decision is out of respect and concern for our younger patrons (a large percentage of our library users) who are unable to be vaccinated and are required to continue to follow these guidelines, and out of concern for every community member as we see cases of the highly contagious and dangerous delta variant of COVID-19 rise in NJ and elsewhere.
Currently, only 50% of Pennsauken residents, 34% of Camden residents, and 60% of Merchantville residents ages 18+ are fully vaccinated at this time (we check the data updates weekly at https://covid19.nj.gov/#liveupdates) and we are not in a position to determine which of our patrons are vaccinated and which are not.
