Pennsauken Reads 2025: Your Next Chapter

Join our year-long community reading challenge on Beanstack and help us read 10,000 books in 2025!

What is “Pennsauken Reads 2025”?

In 2025 the Pennsauken Free Public Library is  starting an initiative called Pennsauken Reads 2025! This new initiative is to encourage all of Pennsauken to get reading. By the end of 2025, we hope to have 10,000 books read by the Pennsauken Community.

Who can participate?

Readers of all ages can participate. No Pennsauken Library Card necessary! But if you live in Pennsauken would like to have a library card, come in and we can set one up for you! Just make sure to bring your driver’s license with your Pennsauken address. Go to our website: www.pennsaukenlibrary.org or call for more information.

That sounds fun! How do I get involved so my reading counts towards Pennsauken Reads 2025?

The Pennsauken Free Public Library uses a reading tracker called Beanstack. In order to participate in Pennsauken Reads 2025 you must create an account with your Pennsauken Library Card and click to join our year-long reading challenge, called “Your Next Chapter”. After you join the challenge, any books you log in 2025 will count towards Pennsauken Reads 2025. Families can share one account with multiple profiles!

What is the different between the monthly Beanstack Reading Challenge and the year-long Beanstack Reading Challenge?

Beanstack creates monthly and yearly challenges to encourage readers to log their books and collect badges. You must be enrolled in a challenge to log your reading. In 2025 we will have two challenges running each month: a monthly challenge and our year-long challenge called “Your Next Chapter”. Participation in the monthly challenge will enter you for the chance to win a prize!

Will this change Summer Reading?

We will have our normal Summer Reading Challenge with extra prizes and fun!

I want to participate, but I’m struggling to find something to read!

Don’t stress! We are here to help. Stop into the library and our PFPL librarians can help you find books that will be perfect for you! If you do not have time to stop in the library, use our online form for our service, Discover Your Perfect Page: https://tinyurl.com/pfplrecs. Once you submit this form, a librarian will work on finding the perfect books for you! Other online options where you can find book reviews and  recommendations are: Goodreads, Social Media sites, and Storygraph. You can also check out bestseller lists from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, NYT, etc. Lastly, you can check out our monthly displays set up around the building, or view our display lists online at: https://tinyurl.com/PFPLdisplays.

Can I only log books checked out from the library?

Any book you read in 2025 counts! You can log books you already have at home, books you recently purchased, books you have checked out from your school library, and any other place you get your books.

Do ebooks, audiobooks, and graphic novels count?

Definitely! And we have some awesome digital library apps called Hoopla, Libby, and Palace Project where you can digitally borrow ebooks, audiobooks, and graphic novels. Check out our Digital Library on our website for more information.
